Cub Scouts
Cub Scouts Camping
Cub Scouts have opportunities to begin camping in a safe, family-orientated environment through Potawatomi Area Council. Camping offers fun and outdoor fitness for young Scouts while learning valuable skills and values. Our day and overnight camp experiences for cub Scouts help build character, confidence and social skills while beginning their introduction to citizenship training.
Day Camps and Overnight Camping
Camping for Cub Scouts is always age-appropriate and family-centric. Our youngest Cub Scouts will have opportunities to begin learning camping skills with day camps and family camps, while older Scouts like Webelos can participate in overnight camping locally, at Camp Long Lake and at national Scout camps. Local camping experiences are available year-round and summer camp is held at our beautiful Camp Long Lake in the Kettle Moraine State Forest.
Summer Camp
One of the most memorable experiences for Scouts of all ranks is summer camp. Our Camp Long Lake facility is equipped with incredible programs for our Scouts, allowing them opportunities to earn dozens of merit badges while learning new skills and building character. The camp experience evolves as Cub Scouts mature – young Scouts will begin with day camps and council-organized family camps and older Scout can participate in Webelos Den overnighters and more advanced camping activities.
Organized Camping Experience
There are many benefits to the organized camping experience for Cub Scouts. Scouts learn about their natural environment and build skills to enhance their self-reliance and independence. While Cub Scouts have fun within their Pack, they gain spiritual, physical, mental and social growth from their camping adventures.
