Camp Long Lake Staff

The Potawatomi Area Council operates a Scout camp that provides multiple events and activities that service Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Exploring Posts and Venture Crews! Each event offers a variety of opportunities for paid summer staff and volunteer positions. Administration

Ages 18+

Manages all operations of our camps including coaching and training the staff. Positions include Camp Director, Operations Director and Business Manager. Minimum ages 18 or 21 years old depending on the level of responsibility.

Area Director

Ages 18+

Summer camp staff who supervise and oversee a camp program or service area. They are responsible for coaching their staff and ensuring a quality experience for our campers (Aquatics, Boating, Camp Craft, STEM/Econ, Shooting Sports, Project First Class (PFC) and High Adventure. Minimum ages 18 or 21 depending on position and level of responsibility.

High Adventure

Ages 18+

Summer camp staff members specializing in leading the Outpost, COPE/Climbing, ATV and Welding programs. Minimum ages 18 or 21 years old depending on the level of responsibility.

Program/Support

Ages 15+

Summer camp staff who work with an area director to provide specific service or program in Aquatics, Camp Craft, STEM/Econ, Archery, Shotgun, High Adventure and Project First Class (PFC). Minimum ages 15 or 18 depending on position and level of responsibility.

Kitchen

Ages 16+

Summer camp staff who work with cooks and kitchen crew chief to provide three meals a day to the campers, adults and staff. Minimum ages 16 or 18 depending on position and level of responsibility.

Counselor in Training

Ages 14+

A staff member, usually 14-15 years old who is training to be a paid staff member. The program exists to provide the necessary tools for future and continued success on camp staff through specialized training and on-the-job practical experience. Individuals must commit to a minimum of three weeks.

Volunteer Opportunities

As in all Scouting activities, volunteer leaders play an important role. Positions such as commissioners, medics/physicians, chaplain, and others, make camp programs more effective.
